KAMI-CON TOURNAMENTS

All console gaming tournaments will be hosted on Saturday. Tournament schedule can be found here.

KAMI-CON TOURNAMENT RULES

  • All games will be played on the default settings, unless otherwise specified, below.
  • All macros available via the in-game controller configuration menu are allowed.
  • Hardware programmable input entry, rapid-fire, or other hardware assisted mechanisms are strictly forbidden.
  • Accidentally pausing the game at any time during the fight will force you to forfeit the round.
  • Any player using “Random Select” to pick their character, must “Random Select” again if they win the match, provided that there is no way to pick a certain character in the random box.
  • It is recommended that you provide your own controller for games played on all systems.
  • Brook Converters are allowed.
  • Cronus Max Plus and Titan One converters are banned.
  • All wireless controllers other than the DualShock4 and WiiU Pro Controller are banned.
  • DualShock4 players that don’t unpair their controller right after the match, are subject to disqualification.
  • XBOX One wireless controllers are allowed to be used only with a USB cable, and no batteries or battery pack in the controller.
  • Nintendo 3DS, 2DS, or WiiU gamepad are restricted.
  • Removing the battery or otherwise disabling these controllers is NOT OK. You may not use these controllers under any circumstances.
  • 3rd party controllers which pair to a dongle like the MadCatz controllers are fine.
  • There is no coaching during any tournament match beyond pools.
  • There is a maximum of 60 seconds allowed between games in a set.

SUPER SMASH BROS. FOR WII U (SMASH 4) TOURNAMENT

* $10 Entry Fee
* Minimum Prize Pot of $1500

  • Game version: US Nintendo WiiU
  • Game Settings: 2 Stock, 6 Minute Time Limit, Custom Moves Off, Items Off, Equipment Off, Handicap Off, Pause Off, Damage Ratio 100%, 2/3 Games
  • Mii Fighters On (1-1-1-1 Default Miis)
  • Amiibo’s are banned.
  • Starter Stages: Battlefield (Miiverse), Final Destination, Lylat Cruise, Smashville, Town & City
  • Counterpick Stages: Dream Land 64
  • All Omega stages are banned.
  • First stage is decided by (Rock Paper Scissors) best of 1. Winner strikes, then loser strikes twice, then winner. (1-2-2-1)
  • Following stages decided by winner banning one stage from all stages and then loser choosing.
  • Winning player is not locked into the same character for the next match, but has to pick before loser selects character.
  • You may not choose a stage you have already won on unless mutually agreed to.
  • You may not play on a stage that is not on the available stages list. This will result in a double disqualification.
  • Maximum allowed time between games is 60 seconds. Any player violating this rule will be issued a loss.
  • Sudden Death with a tied percentage/stock count will NOT determine the outcome of a tied game. A playoff match with 1 stock/2 minutes will determine the winner.
  • There will be no loading anything on to the tournament consoles.

SUPER SMASH BROS. MELEE TOURNAMENT

* $10 Entry Fee
* Prize is distribution of entry pool

  • Game version: US Nintendo GameCube
  • Game Settings: 4 Stock, 8 Minute Time Limit, No Items, Pause Disabled, 2/3 Games
  • Starter stages: Yoshi’s Story, Fountain of Dreams, Final Destination, Battlefield, Dream Land.
  • Counter-pick stages: Pokemon Stadium.
  • Wobbling is legal. Freezing and infinite stalling are not legal.
  • First stage is decided by banning from the Starter Stages in P1-P2-P2-P1 order.
  • Winning player is not locked into the same character for the next match, but has to pick before loser selects character.
  • Following stages decided by winner banning one stage from all stages and then loser choosing.
  • Any matches that are best of five, there are no stage bans.
  • Maximum allowed time between games is 60 seconds. Any player violating this rule will be issued a loss.

STREET FIGHTER V TOURNAMENT

* $15 Entry Fee
* Prize is distribution of entry pool

  • Game version: US PlayStation 4
  • Game Settings: Versus Mode, 99 Seconds, 2/3 Rounds, 2/3 Games, No Handicap
  • The top 8 competitors will play 3/5 Matches.
  • Legacy Controller Mode is banned.
  • Training Stage and the Beach stage are not tournament legal.

BTGG TOURNAMENTS

BTGG TOURNAMENT RULES

  • You must provide your own controller for games played on all systems.
  • Players that don’t unpair their controller right after the match, are subject to disqualification.
  • There is a maximum of 60 seconds allowed between games in a set. Any player violating this rule will be issued a loss.
  • Accidentally pausing the game at any time during the fight will force you to forfeit the round.

  • Players names will be called 2 times and have 2 minutes to be present or will be disqualified.
  • In all tournaments, 16 or fewer players will result in double elimination. Over 16 will result in single elimination. All rounds set to maximum time (not infinite).

GUILTY GEAR XRD REV 2 TOURNAMENT

* $15 Entry Fee
* Prize is distribution of entry pool

  • Game version: US PlayStation 4
  • Game Settings: Versus Mode
  • Prelims: 2/3 rounds per match – 2/3 matches
  • Finals: 2/3 rounds per match – 3/5 matches
  • If the players do not agree on a stage within 15 seconds, the match will be random stage select.

TEKKEN 7 TOURNAMENT

$15 Entry Fee
* Prize is distribution of entry pool

  • Game version: PlayStation 4
  • No customization – Solo banned
  • Prelims: 2/3 rounds per match – 2/3 matches
  • Finals: 2/3 rounds per match – 3/5 matches
  • Random stage selection

DRAGON BALL FIGHTERZ

$15 Entry Fee

  • Game version: PlayStation 4
  • Prelims: 2/3 rounds per match – 2/3 matches
  • Finals: 2/3 rounds per match – 3/5 matches

PC GAMING

HEARTHSTONE TOURNAMENT

  • Guaranteed First Prize Minimum $150
  • Kami-Con will provide computers for this Tournament. Players are allowed to bring non-programmable keyboards, mice or headsets.

GROUP STAGE

  • 3 decks using 3 different classes, standard cards only
  • Each match is a Best of 3 (Bo3)
  • The winner must win 2 games, with different decks
  • Both players must reveal the 3 classes they are using to their opponent prior to games starting, but do not have to say in what order they will be played
  • If you win, that deck is removed for the rest of the match, if you lose you may replay that deck as you haven’t won a game with it

FINALS STAGE

  • Single Elimination
  • Best of Five. (Must Win 3, one with each deck)
  • If you win, that deck is removed for the rest of the match, if you lose you may replay that deck as you haven’t won a game with it

LEAGUE OF LEGENDS TOURNAMENT

  • Minimum First Prize: $600, divided evenly among members of the winning team
  • Kami-Con will provide computers for this Tournament. Players are allowed to bring non-programmable keyboards, mice or headsets.
  • 8 Highest Ranked Entrees Participate.
  • League of Legends: 5 v 5 Summoners Rift.
  • Best of 1, Single Elimination.

REGISTRATION

HEARTHSTONE REGISTRATION

  • Friday Afternoon at the Convention. Must Have Purchased a Kami-Con 3-Day pass to register – Space is limited.

LEAGUE OF LEGENDS REGISTRATION

  • Attendees who have pre-registered for a 3-day Kami-con Pass can submit an advanced submission at kamicongaming@gmail.com. Submission deadline is 1/24/18. Submitted teams must check-in on Friday at PC Gaming Registration at the Game Room.
  • At Con Team Submission: Submit a team registration at Kami-con PC Gaming Registration, Friday at 2:00 P.M.
  • Participating Teams will be announced Friday Evening by no later than 8 p.m. Game-Room. Participating Teams will be on Match Display Board.
  • Note: Only top 8 teams, based on highest average skill level are accepted into tournament. Submitting your team information does not guarantee your participation.
  • You must register as a Team!
    • Eligibility:  Level 30 League of Legends account with 10 Solo-queue Ranked games played in the current season. Be registered with Kami-Con with your Highest Ranked League of Legends account.

PARTICIPATION / TARDINESS

  1. A Tournament Match Schedule will be Posted, Beginning Friday at 3:00 P.M. Tournaments are held through duration of the convention this time onward.
  2. Players are expected to be available for scheduled matches. When a player is late it winds up delaying the entire tournament. Players/Teams which fail to arrive within 10 minutes of schedule, may receive a loss by forfeit.
